Get to Know Orange
Orange is a picturesque city in Orange County that offers a unique blend of history, charm, and community. With a population of around 140,000 people, Orange has maintained its small-town feel while still providing its residents access to all the amenities of a big city.
One of the standout features of Orange is its rich history. The city’s Old Towne District, established in 1871, is a designated National Register Historic District with over 1,300 historic homes and buildings. The district has many antique shops, art galleries, and local restaurants that offer visitors a glimpse into Orange’s past. Additionally, Orange is home to several historic landmarks, including the historic Chapman University campus and the historic Orange Depot, which now serves as a railway museum.
Orange is also known for its charming downtown area, which offers various dining and shopping options. The Plaza, located in the heart of downtown, is a popular gathering spot for locals and visitors. The Plaza is home to the iconic fountain, built in 1886, and symbolizes the city’s history and community.
The city offers many recreational opportunities, with over 40 parks and more than 50 miles of trails and bike paths. The Santiago Oaks Regional Park, located on the city’s eastern edge, offers hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as picnic areas and playgrounds for families.
